Lots of moans recently about cr*p service from British marine industry firms. I needed a spring for a Whale Gusher galley pump. Telephoned Munster Simms in Belfast, spoke to a charming young lady who informed me that said item was unavailable in their service kits. "Wait for it" thought I. "But we will pop one in the post to you-no charge". Item arrived by first class post the next day. brilliant service IMHO.

I have to say that in terms of supply companies giving 'bad' service I can't recall any (financial institutions excepted) The last was Raymarine people giving inaccurate information which other employees then denied was possible and that was four years ago. Other forumities have had good experiences with them.

I would go as far as to say the service I recieve from UK companies overall is excellent and I find that people go are generally very helpful. I doesn't stop mistakes happening but it is the way errors are sorted out that matter.
