I bought a Garmin 4008 plotter just before Christmas 2009 and unfortunatly had a powering up problem. Garmin support were very good and offered a selection of possible solutions, but when none of these worked they asked me to send it back to them.

I sent it last Tuesday, and today a new plotter has arrived! I reckon that's excellent service and worthy of a pat on the back. They've even backed up my data onto an SD card which they have supplied.

10/10 for Garmin.

Excellent plotter by the way.

Hmmmm..........

Lets see, supply faulty goods and they are good........... nope it must be me! Now then did they go the extra mile and provide a little something to sweeten the bitter taste after charging you for something that wasn't fit for purpose.

Dont worry Phil it's just me in one of my "I'm sick of poor quality" days.

Yes, it's you!

Another vote for Garmin service.....

was a bit over enthusiastic in removing the aerial for the plotter and ripped cable out. Usual alternative wd be to buy a new one as the existing is a sealed unit.

Garmin man (Nick Meadow) knew exactly the aerial and the correct replacement and supplied it at less than half the cost of a newun as a 'repair' ... actually a brand new one.

so a second vote for Garmin service
