Rather than just a smattering of different posts on various forums, would it be a useful exercise for Kim to start a good pub guide rather along the lines of the fuel forum.
Almost all of us head to the nearest hostelry when we go ashore. Many a time we probably regret the chioce and someone invariably tells us of an excellent little place they've found just as we're about to leave and repeat the same mistakes elsewhere.
We could have reports on the food, drink and the service. I for one would find it useful to know where serves good beer and decent food. There's generally a large number of pubs in each port and from my experience, most of them I wouldn't bother with again.
I'll start with recommending the food at the Rez Nova floating restaurant in Dartmouth but NOT the beer. Also the Castle Hotel in Dartmouth is good for both, then there's the Boringdon Arms just outside Plymouth Yacht Haven, must rank as one of the best pubs I've ever visited, great beer and food.
Come on Kim let's have a new forum that's of real interest to both stinkies and raggies!
Why no
