Good Places To Overwinter a Small Cat on East Coast

Been on the S Coast for 5 years now and We have really enjoyed it but getting itchy feet so time to move on. Thinking about a season around the east Coast and then hauling out for the winter 2015 there, getting quite excited even this far ahead.

Two things come to mind.
1 Where is a good place to leave the boat mid season for a few weeks-probably a swinging moring-something cheap and cheerful!
2 Not all yards lift out cats even little ones like ours so some pointers as to where we could get lifted out would be helpful. Just a basic yard is ok but with good security, ok with DIY repair work, electricity, water, toilets and ok staying on board in the yard as increasinggly some yards are a bit difficult about this.

All suggestions and ideas welcomed.

Well.

I will probably get slated by the anti-SYH mob on the forum but quite a few cats take moorings in the river opposite the marina (Levington, Orwell).

They also lift and store quite wide cats (larger than yours) ashore.

Some people do stay aboard when on the hard (discreetly) - I doubt it's 'official policy' & if you went and asked directly you might be disappointed :rolleyes:.

You can definitely DIY with good professional businesses on hand should you come unstuck.

Downside - it's probably not as 'cheap and cheerful' as you would like.

Bridgemarsh on the Crouch would do that fo ryou. Britains 168th least expensive marina. I have been there 6 years now, and other forumites also keep their boat there. Good for the railway too to London.
