First just as we were mooring up for a cuppa, a fisherman tells us he has caught a pike and its ran and got tangled under some tree roots can he climb on and we nudge into the bank so he can unhook it? much to my surprise thats what he did and then freed it.

Secondly a couple of weekends later returning to base see a dog paddling in the river with its two lady owners 6/7 feet up a vertical bank unable to get the dog back up, they were considering climbing down, i did point out thats great but how will you get back up?
So roped the dog around the neck, they werent to keen to pull him up like this, so we got him on board, where he then proceeded to eat my entire stash of chocolate Maryland cookies:eek: Lisa thought this was hilarious.
Motored back up to the lock where the two ladies met us, they must have thought we were going to bugger of with their dog as they were waiting for us when we got there:D

Good for you!

Amazing how many dog owners let their pet jump in to flowing water from high banks without considering how it will get out again.

3rd one from the bottom , whats going on with its mouth ?

possibly damage caused by a boat previously, or when the pike was young, the hooks that i got it with were in the lowerlip jaw area, you can see the heads damaged further back, got a pike out a few weeks back was covered in old bite marks, from other predators. the pike in the picture can still feed attacked the lure real quick.

Well done on the rescues both fish and dog .
Bumperdump nice essox fella, had loads that have been grabbed by larger female Pike on the way in ove the years including this little fella
