Well we use 2 methods.....drifting and trolling. Drifting: We travel out to deep water and position ourselves upwind from
a known depth contour line and begin to throw whole sardines over the side to set a scent trail. We bait up with whole sardines and set them at various depths and drift. Tend to catch the bigger fish this way as well as the odd blue shark!
Trolling: We use either squid lures or fish lures and troll at either 4-5 knots (fish lures) or 10 to 12 knots (Squid lures)

Normally we are able to cover much more ground with trolling and everone looks out for the tuna feeding on bait fish which attracts the seagulls. Tend to catch tuna between 30 and 50 lbs this way as schooling tuna are smaller. The bigger ones are sometimes more solitary.
