Golding\'s chances in the Vendee Globe

2,500 miles to go and Golding over 200 miles behind in 3rd. I would like to be wrong, but it'll need a lot of good fortune (and maybe he deserves some) for Golding to win. The battle for 2nd should be close though as he is only 30 miles in arrears. Here's wishing him some favourable wind.

that 2500 miles includes the doldrums where anything can happen, even when boats are just a few miles apart!

He's throught the Doldrums by the look of it and seems to be pointing higher than the other two keeping east. He's loosing speed because of that, but his gamble may pay off if the wind as forcast swings North for a while. He must have been screaming when his halyard broke for the second time.
