Golding keel problems!

Mike Golding is 52 miles from finish, and has just reported keel problems...... he has said that he will try to make the finish, but won't be there this evening....

Now, how many canting keel racing yachts have had keel problems in the last 40 days, I am loosing count here. Hope Mike makes it back safely.

Is he safe in 3rd or is that under threat?

If he can make it to th finish line he should be fine, the nearest guy is about 900 miles behind. Its just a case of whether Mike can nurse the boat back safely. The weather seems settled so he might be in with a chance if he can keep the boat going on a windward direction in the light airs.

"if he can make it to the finish line"....that's all he needs! but yep, at a few knots he is 10 hours from a finish, next along is 100 hours back
