Hy. I'm looking for information regarding the above vessel. She carries the sail # K6052 and sailed I believe mainly along the south coast. I have practically no information on her having bought her in Gosport from a boatbuilder who had no real information regarding her past. Inside she is very neglected but appears basically sound though missing practically everything not bolted down. She has a very extensive sail wardrobe covering just about every wind condition which suggests that she may have been raced. Her hull is A dark green with white superstructure. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance, Mike.

<span style="color:red"> "The Shipman 28 was first built in Visby in Sweden in 1968, and shortly afterwards another production centre was set up in Cork in Ireland. Production continued in Ireland after they stopped being built in Denmark.

Designed by Olle Enderlein of Sweden, she was (apart from the trim tab on the keel) a typical cruiser-racer of her era, with hull lines similar to other modern classics such as the Contessas, Elizabethans and Hustlers. Around 1,300 were built in total, many still being raced, particularly in the Baltic and in Ireland.

Shipman are still in business, although they now produce much larger ultra high tech carbon fibre cruiser-racers.

More information, although almost entirely In Danish, is at the owners association website http://www.shipman28.dk/"
