For those with limited cruising experience Goes is on the other (Veerse Meer) side of the 3M long Zeelandbrug.
The yachthaven has only about 1.4m as I recall.
Oh dear . . .
My chart says [ QUOTE ]
Due to strong currents the fairways are changing continuously. Actual depths may differ from soundings. The buoyage is adjusted accordingly. Attention is drawn to the strong tidal streams in these waters. For Tidal Streams see: Tidal Stream Atlases published by the Netherlands Hydrographer...

The rest is waffle. Sorry, I thought might be able to be useful.
Chart says 2.2 / 3m in the canal, I think that is 2.2 winter, 3m summer.
De Werf Haven depth is 2m,but that is nearly always full anyway.Town haven more interesting I reckon.
I think there is a cill by the ring road bridge at about 2.2m but if so you can lay outside against a pleasant quay, not quite as nice as the town harbour but very close.
The harbour master is very helpful and will tell you if there is a problem.
Phone nr 0113216136 or 06 54300983. He may be off duty now for the winter.
All info from Wateralmanak 2000 so may be out of date.
See it is worth buying the Dutch Almanak!
Last year's almanac says inner harbour depth 2,20 m. There usually is a margin. And we have no rocky patches. Bottom is usually soft mud in inland waters. The canal is certainly deeper. Before you go, buy the AMWB Almanac, very useful for all obstacles as bridges, locks and so on..
cheers
That would be 2.2m less the depth of the bikes that are often seen dumped in Dutch marinas. In UK we specialise in dumped shopping trollies.
A friend had a problem at Goes when the water level dropped while he was inside and prevented him leaving. The HM made a phone call to a control room somewhere and the water level rose back within an hour.
Damn, the secret is out. I was hoping to keep the best port in the Low Countries an insiders's secret.
Anyway: charts and almanak data give 2.2m in winter, 3 in summer.

Make sure you ask for the bridge closing and opening times. In the low season they only open twice: once in the morning and once in the evening.
If mooring in De Werf (it's like mooring in a city park), moor bows to shore, as it shelves off. And the finger pontoons are extremely short, so have a bench or a ladder.
In the clubhouse, there is a freezer in the floor and a little tin can on the bar. Take whatever you want, payment is on the honour system. Give generously. The first person that abuses the system, I will hunt down to the end of the seven seas.
The underground is mud, but stay away from the canal walls (stones, trolleys). Either way, once in town you won't be able to get to the walls: you'll be stuck in the mud.
Other options:
Go further in town: the town marina is probably deeper (also closer to the center, and better equiped, but noisier and less cheap).
There is also a marina just behind the lock, but that is 4-5km from the city centre. Has a good chandlery, though.
Have you ever been there in July or early August when the weather is not too hot? I can assure you this is no insider's secret! It's common knowledge. Hear Hear for your comments about the clubhouse payment system.
