My holiday snaps included 3 pictures of gc1's boat and crew but they have been deleted /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Just how far can gc1's influence reach /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I had resisted the temptation to post but was a little concerned they got censored.

See link below
Are the last three blocked from everyone or is it just my laptop playing up again ?

Re: Gluddy you wrecked my day

I maybe wrong but I think Gluddy has censored them.

are the last three snaps just red 'X' on your screen too ?

Re: Gluddy you wrecked my day

During my holidays I bumped into GC1 and my photo link included 3 photos of gc1's boat and crew.

This morning on checking my photo link I found the last three had vanished.

Yes.

Re: Gluddy you wrecked my day

I wonder what the legal position is with regard to publishing pictures of someone without their permission...

Anyone know??

Re: Gluddy you wrecked my day

One assumes that Pete has had a quiet word with Gludy and asked him to remove them. If you host pictures on a website and someone comes along to make it clear that they don't want their image posted there, there doesn't seem to be much alternative than to remove them to me, unless it's in the public interest to keep them displayed.

Mind you, I bet all the Swindleries have covert piccies of him under the counter, with the instruction: "If you see this man, don't let him out of the shop until he's spent at least a couple of grand". /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Gluddy you wrecked my day

What is it with GC1? Does'nt want his pic displayed on the forum. Does'nt want his name in the Poole rescue article in this month's MBY. Who's he hiding from? Probably several hundred peeps is the answer to that

Re: Gluddy you wrecked my day

So presumably anyone who has a picture hosted on Gludy's system that they don't like it can get it removed regardless of who took it? How do you know that the person requesting the removal is the one shown?

Cue Trader lining up to get a whole slew of pictures removed... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Legally, I'm not sure of the position. I believe that you can't prevent someone putting a picture of yourself online unless its damaging in someway (where you may have recourse to have it removed). I find it hard to believe that the images taken by Daka would be damaging...

European Convention on Human Rights. Article 8

There is case history. "The disclosure by the Council (Brentwood) of the relevant footage (from CCTV) therefore constituted a serious interference with the applicant's right to respect for his private life."

The man who complained was awarded £7,000 damages and a further £12,000 in costs.

Our daughter's school has just sent round a form to be signed, defining what offically taken photos of the pupils can be published where, and with/out names.

It's a question the IPC lawyers should give advice on, to be incorporated in the forum Rules.

Re: Gluddy you wrecked my day

if they are in a public area then they are fair game as long as you dont misrepresent them.

Re: Gluddy you wrecked my day

Yes, it's case law rather than specific legislation, though the recent Privacy laws have made a significant contribution. SWMBO runs a school website, inter alia, and they have requested signed agreements from all parents to pictures (though not names) of their children being put on the site. No signature = no pictures, which is a bit of a bummer when you have a photo of something like the school nativity, and there's one child there whose face you can't show.

Before there is a welter of comment about this, however, at least one family at the school are more or less in hiding from a violent, abusive father and if he were - even by chance - to see the kids on the website, he'd know which school to come round to, in order to say hello.

Re Deleted User's question about GC1's desire for anonymity: I think it's something to do with his job, but you'd have to ask him, which you should be able to do soon. I could tell you his name but if I did, I'd have to kill you /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

As I came through the Dartford tunel this morning there was a flash of bright light.
Do I need to be concerned ?

It could be a while before I respond, Im going to stay on the move.

I'll take my lap top and look for a square mile zone, please let me know when it is safe to return.

Is it too late to say 'sorry' ? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
