Glommed sat dish

My boat came with the dish that tracks satalites but not set top box will a basic box from Argos do

Do you have the control box for the dish? It takes RF direct from the dome, I think it uses the signal strength to search for sats and prob amps the signal up again before outputing it to the receiver. Why not take your sat box from home and try it. Assuming you don't won't to watch it on the move ie with no 240volts or have the genny running, a domestic stb should be ok.
