I am looking for an insurance company that is going to cover me globally. I have identified Admiral, Top Sail and Pantanius as possibles, sadly GJW does the Caribbean but not the Pacific.
What I would like is to receive PM's of any claims experience.
I once had to make a claim with GJW, and it could not have been easier, they sent a surveyor to look at the extent of the damage and found that the quote for repair I had got was inadequate and made the yard fix additional items.
I have heard horror stories about companies dragging their heals and looking for excuses to get out of their liability etc. I am not interested in those sorts of companies, I want to pay a fair premium for full cover with a fuss free painless experience should the need arise.
My home insurance is with Hiscox, I cannot speak to highly of them. The cover they offer exceeds that of cheaper companies like Aviva. For example if my house burned down Aviva would cover the cost of renting a property for about 4 months, with Hiscox it is about 3 years should it take that long. the point am making here is that I am not looking for the cheapest cover, I am looking for an insurance company that is going to promptly put me back in my original position asap.
