Glad I didn\'t go

<font color=blue> Was gonna go to show today but Obersturmbahnfuhrer Eileen decided that I didn't want to. This only goes to reinforce her view that she was born to command me. Had we gone we would have been caught up in the mess at Paddington station when all trains stopped running due to a computer failure. (If only they would update from W95 to XP)

<font color=blue> Yeh! Right! Now those that have met me know that you haven't. There's only just enough room for me in the back of a Pickfords Lorry.

Re: Glad I didn\'t go

You should have gone. It was absolutely superb in that there was plenty of room to wander about and enjoy and talk to various people...aprt from Sunseeker who managed to be rude AGAIN.

Given that it looks as if the snow is going to keep people away again today , I 'll probably go back this evening as well.

Are you serious?

Clearly you are a proper buyer, were Sunseeker really rude to you.

If so they do not deserve any business. Surely someone from Sunseeker must monitor this forum from time to time?

Re: Glad I didn\'t go

Absolutely serious. I have an ongoing 'hate' relationship with many but not all Sunseeker dealerships and PARTICULARLY their rudeness at Boat Shows....although I confess to being an ardent fan of most Sunseeker boats boats up to 55-ish feet.

I admit that I have got to the stage with them where I expect problems. I believe that Sunseeker International have made a major mistake in appointing independent dealers with little competition, I find them arrogant with little attention to real Customer Service. The approach may be OK for today when they are 'Brand-Leaders' to the Rich and Famous BUT the time will come when they have to 'earn' Brand loyalty.

The facts this time is that my 2nd choice boat (second hand) is being sold by a UK broker. I have been talkingto him IN CASE my own purchase falls through. I had one of those nice glossy Sunseeker invites ( no free ticket- pah). Walk up stairs to 'Customer Reception' podium. Queue. Ask Politely for contact..answer is 'In a meeting'... ask politely 'When will he be back?' answer ' He's here until Sunday night'

Me:- ' Is it posssible to arrange to see him today?'
Her..' I'll give him your name if I see him'
Me''@Is it possible for you to phone me in next 2 hrs?'
Her..'I don't know'

at this point I excused myself politely , I had not raised my voice but was seething ...it was quiet and one ofthe dealers came overto me and offered to help and APOlOGISED for this woman's rudeness. He was obviously a lot better. I said thanks but no thanks ....enough is enough.

Does anyone from Sunseeker monitor this forum? I doubt it as I've posted enough complaints about them without any response public or private.

The fact is that there is undoubtedly some truth in what they say about many 'Sunseeker owners' i.e. they are not reallly interested in the boating experience only in what ownership says about them.
So I guess Sunseeker dealers monitor the lap-dancing sites rather than boating forums.

Re: Glad I didn\'t go

Had that happened to me I'd now be writing a polite letter to Sunseeker's ceo explaining how poorly you had been treated by this woman and at various dealerships. I'd tell him/her that while Sunseeker was your most favoured builder, the arrogance and disrespect shown to you on various occassions meant you now felt you could no longer comfortably do business with them.

Might earn you a phone call, apology and hopefully next dealer you visit might be a little more service minded.

regards

NO,NO,NO,NO,NO.........you obviously

went about this all wrong.

You should have grown great bushy eyebrows, hairy ears, named your wife Rosanne & said you used to drive really, really fast cars. The you could have ordered a 64ft boat from them & had it delivered to Florida in 4 weeks, just like Nigel Mansel did.

GLAD - I DID

I went to the show on Thursday evening - It was excellent - Went with a friend and we got there about 4.30 and had a surperb time - Met the Guy who sold him HIS boat and got shown the new Windy (mmmm nice). Then saw a number of nice 28-35 footers. Met the guy from Boatshed who sold ME mine (Hi guys).

Went on the Fairline stand and went on the Squaddy 58 - beautiful boat - one day !!! The lady was great letting us into the restricted area and the guy who owned the boat was really chatty. My current boat is a fairline - think the next one will be as well /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Had a nibble and glass of wine with Walton Marine then went upstairs into the Gadgets bit and went hunting odds and sods - finally left at 9.30 pm.

A really GREAT few hours.

SBS is a famliy day out and the LBS is for the "boater" IMHO.

Got back to the hotel at 11.00 pm contented !!
