Girteka Logistics have damaged Marlow bridge

Never mind it will probably be Latvian workers rebuilding the bridge with Chinese steel using Japanese back hoe loaders, under the watchful eye of a French construction company owned by a German company financed by a middle eastern Theocracy with a dubious human rights history.
All profits will be heading for a British Protectorate offshore tax haven. :)
UK construction companies would have quoted but were out of the office at the time......on the golf course.

When I find myself at the back of stationary traffic, with a huge gap behind, I leave a bigger than average gap, hazzard lights on even, I leave the car in gear, and I am prepared to go off road onto the verge if I see another vehicle approaching at speed and I and my family are at risk.

This has paid off on at least 2 occasions, I get out of the way and in one case, the speeding car hit the one in front. Had I not done that, my son sitting in the rear of a Fiesta would have been killed first then the myself and partner.
On each occasion, looking at the aporoaching driver, he was glazed over, making no body movements to slow down or steer away... Time to get out of here...
Might wreck a tyre, scratch an alloy... but hey ho... Still here.

Good on you.

I have to say that I'm tempted to delete the photos of dead people on the grounds that they bear no relevance to a story about the bridge. I await other folks feelings on this matter.

Tricky call. I think it would be appropriate to delete all the photos relating to that incident. As you say, not relevant to the bridge, but OTOH thread drift is part and parcel of these fora. What would sway me though in this case is that a casual reader may infer a connection between the incidents - even perhaps thinking it is the same driver - where none exists.

I agree with Alan, the the story is tragic, however, not directly relevant to the thread and might suggest a link where none exists. Anything that misleads or could be inferred as misleading or bordering on the defamatory should be avoided.

I agree no place on this forum, the video clip is not something that should be on here either.

My first impression was "why post those" and I haven't changed that view. We're relying on your good moderation, Byron.

Ah, I've seen you have done it. Well done.
