Just had a freezing time at the marina taking the bellhousing off to fit a new gimbal bearing. Pried the old one out of the holder and pushed in the new (aftermarket) one.
The aftermarket bearing bore diameter is just too tight for my alignment tool to fit through and once I wiggled it in a half inch, had a devil of a job getting it out again. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
So mooched off back to the car and trundled home with a black cloud, complete with thunder and lightning hovering over the top of my head. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
The original bearing does not have a number and the chinese copy number does not appear to be an ISO number.
So does anyone know the correct ISO bearing number for this?
Looked at hundreds of the pillow block insert tech specs on the web and none seems to match. Eyes are hurting and I'm getting cranky now.
Can anyone help? pretty please, without pointing me back to the Merc (extortionate) or aftermarket (poor fit) vendors since I can get most quality bearing makes at trade discount.
