Some people have asked for first hand experience of checking in:
Arrived 2am from La Rochelle. I tied up on the pontoons to the right of the reception area located before the entry to where the diesel berth is. Tying up here meant once I woke I could walk up and see if the diesel pontoon was empty. One Brit boat was flying the Q flag.
First thing (9am) I moved the boat and refuelled. Fuel is not self service. Into the office and paid. After which I was directed to the visitors pontoon. (On the left) as you enter the port. Office asked if I had yet had a visit by Border Police? Several French and Brit boats.
Within 10 mins a visit by Border Police.
Passport only. They went through looking at all the stamps in Passport. Knowing I had come from France the last French stamp was about 6 months ago. Also presented my French residents card. At this point confirming no stamp needed if you have this card.)
They were happy and left.
Marina office required passports (not copies or numbers written down), Boat registration, insurance. Takes 10 mins of form filling. Once completed you get a copy of what has been entered into the database. Keep this in case of future Border police visits.
Whilst I did not collect a stamp in the passport I’m sure Brits ordinarily would.
In normal situations if not refuelling tie up on visitors pontoon and fly Q. Visit the office but don’t go exploring until after Border Police have showed.
