hi

currently cruising around northern spain and am heading for portugal.in gijon for the weekend.need to buy a tender and a small out board.can't afford a new one.does anyone know anywhere between here and la coruna where i could pick one up.

also ,its all going so well.got a 20 hp mitsubushi vetus.which has on occasion/every day , let sea water leak back in to the cylinders.is this down to a valve sticking open on the exhaust manifold and sea water creeping back in as the engine cools.know any good mechanics out here.

regards

You might just stumble across one for sale in the marina at Ribadeo. Othyerwise your best chance by far is La Coruna. The big chandlers near the main port had inflatables for sale when we were last there.

Have you had more kit on board than usual? We had the same problem when we laden the boat for cruising and that extra inch or so down made the engine syphon water back! only a thought.

You should check the air bleed valve on the raw water anti-siphon loop. Ours stuck closed and water came into the cylinders via the exhaust - as you describe - and filled the sump with sea water /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

thanks no no extra weight on board.but will remember that for future reference.will losen the air bleed valve and see if that does the job.usually though things are never that simple.you go in for a filter change and end up having the engine re built and wonder why you have to find 500 quid.love it....
