Could any kind person give me some info about leaving our boat in Gibraltar for the winter? Are there any better nearby alternatives?

Gibraltar is ok, Shephards ashore or afloat, the others suffer with swell. Thats where I would go, nowhere else around there. If you want to go somewhere a little further afield, Rota is OK as is.......Damn........can't remember the name offhand, but it's further North, not far and its OK aswell, if a little out of town.

Good idea. We left Mylor last year and will eventually head back that way. Lots of other places to explore first.

Thanks for your input. Going by your replies to various people it seems that you spend some time in the Med.

Latest edition of either Motor Boat Monthly or its similar competition has a comprehensive article on Gib and the various marinas and boatyards available for wintering.

...and for those sailors who don't read these, they invariably have very good articles on fuel systems and diesel engine maintenance!
