Gibraltar Marinas?

Am I correct in thinking there is no longer a Marina where Shepherds used to be?

This presumably leaves just queensway and Marina Bay?

Only it is a possibility I may wish to move the boat from Preveza to Gibraltar this August if conditions allow. I now have the possibility of a few months work here and it would be nice to moor the yacht here to live on.
 
Queensway and Marina Bay have put up their prices to around £15 and £22 per night respectively - IF, and that's a big IF they will let you in.
So pre-book before you set off otherwise you will have to achor off in la linea which is the other side of the runway.

Glen, who i believe used to be involved with one of the marinas down here is in charge. There is a lot of work going on in the area of the old Sheppards at the mo as they are doing ground works for the new development but if it may well be worth trying, especially if it's only a short term berth you're after. Whatever, I wouldn't recommend just turning up in Gib on spec especially high season. Call there or here at Marina Bay first and sweet talk....

Stories about thefts from the anchorage at La Linea are becoming alarming especially dinghies so wouldn't leave the boat there unattended for long if at all avoidable.

Sheppards are supposed to be building a bew marina but there's no sign yet of them making a start.

Course! If your boats shiny enough you could also try Queensway Quay!! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Trouble is I cannot be 100% cetain of making it so dont want to pay anything up front. I would want to stay for possibly 11 months as I will hopefully be spending some time in Gib with work.
 
emailed Queensway and Marina bay. Queensway replied saying tere were no vacancies at my required time and Marina Bay couldnt be bothered to reply.
 
The telephone for Marina Bay pier office is 00 350 73300 I will be staying in my apartment in Gib in September - good close hostelry is Bianca's - on the waterfront.
