Gibb snapshackle rope connection

In a locker I have found a Gibb Snapshackle with a black plastic "Norseman" type connector. The body unscrews by hand with gnurled section on the body. There is white plastic cone inside.
The fact that it was in the locker and the spinnaker halyard had fallen inside the mast suggests its not reliable. Can anyone identify it and have instructions on fitting a rope to it?

I think from the stunned silence nobody knows!!!!!!
What you have sounds a bit like a fitting for light weather spinnaker sheets and is not suitable for the spinnaker halyard.

I suspect you are right!! I wish I could get a photo of it on here. If it was on the halyard, it certainly was a recipe for disaster as its very prone to coming loose.

i know of the fittings but thats all.
these were instead of an eye splice for diy fitting
