Another stupid question

My sadler 29 has Gibb genoa cars which have what appears to be a flush fitted square black plastic button behind the block. I assume this is what controls the stop but I can't figure out if it lifts, twists or what. I don't know if it's stuck and don't want to force it but how do I release it so that I can move the car?.

It's probably siezed solid - Aluminium + stainless steel + salt water = corrosion!! I'm pretty sure they lift up and then you can move the car. Try soaking it in penetrating oil or diesel to try and release it, then gently leverering up and tapping down until it's free. Good Luck!

I had a similiar problem last year having not been used for a number of years.
Sometimes the plastic square bit can be twisted thru' 90 to hold up the locating pin.
Agree with previous post about copious amounts of boiling water and then trying to tap it and tease it out. A rag can be useful to retain heat around car.
One of mine was stuck in a hole with a mounting screw so I removed the nut from inside and simply tapped up the stuck pin with the screw. If this is an option then it's the best. I broke the plastic part on 1 side but the other came out intact.

I have the same Gibb car system. The black rubber block should just lift the pin up, which then springs back down to stay in place. On one of mine the rubber block has perished (or been lost some other way), so it takes a fingernail to prise the small-washer-sized head of the pin up in order to move the car.
