Well, according to Poole Borough Council, brief extract from their latest release.

An exciting announcement was made today by the judging panel who have been deliberating over the final two design teams for the development of the town’s new harbour crossing. The Council’s Executive Committee will make the final decision on 10 December and the proposed design is the ‘Twin Sails’

A hobby horse of mine, this. Mainly 'cause I stand to lose the excellent facilites I enjoy at West Quay.
Also, because it seems ill thought out from a water users point of view. With the two bridges (existing & new) so close together, and the bridges supposedly operating in tandem, it'll be chaos on a busy summer afternoon, with bridges going up and down like a wh...., yoyo. They seem to think boats can wait 'bumper to bumper' like cars, and foreget that in a tight space, there must be freedom for movement with wind & tide.
Also if the whole development ends up looking like the new places at Dolphin Haven, yuk. Supposed to be award winnig architecture, enough said!
No, I think there are better ways to spend £27 million. This will escalate 100%, at least. Ever known a civil engineering project that hasn't.
