After parting with my beloved Bayliner 285 I finally got out the marina today with my 36ft Trawler Yacht for a decent blast !!!!!!!!!
a couple of things got me tickled

1 - twin engines on shafts - amazing manoeuvrability
2 - autohelm coupled to GPS - effortless cruising (after 15 yr old son programmed it)
3 - great comfort (as long as you ain't in a hurry)

so overall a good start

I have one question though about inboard/shaft - why does the cooling water exit the exhaust in spurts, cant figure that out

the exhaust is watercooled (obviously :D) and the box fills up with water until the gases force the 'blockage' out. It's especially noticeable at low revs, when the process is analagous to "batch processing". At higher revs , it's almost a "flow process".

I hope you both have lots of happy hours pottering together.

You'll have a lot of fun with her... nice boat. I had a similar (single screw) boat myself for a few years.

Aft cabin is nice and quiet with no chine lapping.

Enjoy your boat :)

Neptune 36

Ah... neptune 36 very nice I looked at one of those being sold by Salterns in Poole... very nearly bought it but ended up with a C Kip 40 which seems to be a very similar type with a (small!) Bath!!.. hope you have a great time with her... like you say not fast but comfy... good luck...Iain
