I am a recently retired bobby (50yrs old) and want to know the best course of action to get into motorboating. Which courses, locations (I am in Manchester) clubs or any opportunities to learn. I have been pleasure boating many times but not as crew. I am looking to relocate to Mallorca in the next 2 yrs and purchase my own dayboat around 40'. Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Hiya, a good place to start is to look at the Royal Yachting Association website. They give details of all the Motor courses from novice onwards. Also listed are the recognised sea schools all around the UK and abroad. Despite the cost of a course, its a less expensive step to make sure you really enjoy it first before spending a significant bunch of wonga on a boat.
Hope this helps, happy boating!!
