I'm not a fan of Oxalic Acid as all it tends to do is bleach the timber . Yes it gets rid of the marks but also makes the surrounding timber lighter so all you are doing is changing shades and not getting rid .
I have tried scraping the ply back with a cabinet scraper and have had some sucsess but again the surrounding timber is lighter .
Any tips ?

Have you tried wiping the surface with a fairly damp rag? I did this on a piece of solid oak recently and it removed some water stains. The deep stains hardly shifted but the lighter ones disappeared completely.

No tips then ? I have tried following grain lines with a cotton bud on test peices but the chemicals always seem to make the surrounding wood lighter /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
