i accept that ads are necessary to make a free to user site viable and on the desktop i dont mind them. the screen is big enough. but on a 10inch tablet its a different issue - the ads take up one third of the already limited acreage. And when you scroll down below the ads, the screen doesnt re-size

i am using firefox on an android tablet with adsense loaded but it isnt working. has anyone else found a browser /add on that will work? or is this problem the result of google tinkering with the android system? i would be happy with a system where you had to tap on the ad to get rid of it which would at least mean you had looked at it - more than i currently do.

Well something has changed in the last couple of days.

On my desktop pc, I used to get a full screen width forum.

As of a day or 2 ago, I still don't get any adverts, but I now have 1/3 of a screen of white space. It no longer expands to fill the space not taken up with the adverts.

on a 10" tablet running WindowsRT a double tap on the screen zooms in just the right amount to displace the ads leaving the forum proper exactly filling the screen.

Unfortunately it zooms out again for every new page but a double tap is not a lot of effort to zoom in again.

They reappear if I pause Adblock !

Blank space if scrolling down below the first couple of posts, or thereabouts

Thank you for that! Seems obvious now. Not so bothered by the ads cos I could ignore them but the 2/3 size viewable screen seemed a waste of using a 10" tablet (ipad)

Of no help to you (or me) :( but Chrome have an addin Adblocker for PC's, but it isn't yet available for tablets

I may be paranoid but they really are trying to get me...

The Adblocker addin states ' will monitor your tabs and browsing history ' (sic)

Now why would an anti ad site want that data...? Surely just to help us...

They must have tweeked something in the last couple of days as I am getting ads again on my PC so spending most of my time looking for solutions (and other forums)

if you are using ad block + sometimes the subscription gets lost
if this has happened you have to go to filter prefs' 1st tab subscriptions
