Getting a new stove

We have a wallas paraffin stove on our boat. It has been giving me (and the wife) grey hair for quite some time now. It has trouble firing up and once it does, it turns itself off randomly. I've taken it to service three times now but no help. I've checked the fuel lines & fuel. I also did a re-wiring so that there is now 10 mm2 cabling straight from the battery. Worked fine at first, but then the same old trouble began while preparing a chateubriand last night... DISAPOINTED!

So, now ready to get a new cooker. I've been thinking of getting a Wallas 90 paraffin or equivalent diesel -cooker.

I would really like to hear from all of you, what is the cooker of your choice and how it has served you. Also opinion's on the pro's and con's of different fuel types would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Yes I'd like to hear from anyone with the Wallas diesel one too. I had diesel on the last boat but that cooker is no longer made. Recently acquired tub has a new Neptune gas cooker which rattles all the time, is flimsy and too delicate for a marine cooker (in my view), and anyway I'm opinionated about my distaste for gas aboard.

Seriously, just get a good domestic electric cooker, Miele or Baumatic or suchlike. Much better than a "marine" cooker imho. I agree Milltech's comment, no-gas is best.

Re: Domestic

Some generator...and who wants that noise in a tranquil anchorage.
