hi all, I own a 32 foot wooden MFV called Dignity moored in Arbroath scotland on a rewnewable berth. She weights about 12 tonn and all in all shes a nice family houseboat etc weekender. I hve had her up for sale but no takers as yet..... I have started working in Norway and am likely to continue to do so. Is it feesable to get her lifted onto a ship travelling to Stavanger etc and then lifted off , dropped into the water then off I go. I know for a fact that there are a lot of similar boats to this in our area, it would be lovely to use her there as the area is surrounded by islands, fjords, hideaways etc which is why I bought her in the first place. Living here in Arbroath makes trips such as that a problem s there are not really any islands to go camping on etc and once out the harbour gates here, you are effectively exposed to whatever the North Sea is doing in all her moods. In norway I would be sheltered from the worst of the wether and its always easy to seek lee.
I would not be permanantly exporting her, it would be more of an extended holiday period and I know a guy up there who is a boat builder and could source timber, fittings etc to re -do her gunnels etc and bring her up to top condition which will be a challenge with my current set up.

Regards Alan

Just check your status and under what conditions the boat can be kept as you will not be a visitor more a resident......sounds like a seaworthy boat, have it delivered on its bottom.
