getting a bit windy

on boat tonight, now up to F7 glad I'm tucked up in a marina as it's due to increase - now F10 in fastnet according to XC weather.

Boats aft have advertising flags up their fore-stays. They're making a right racket. I find halyards therapeutic but those flags are driving me nuts!

The guys were doing some boats in Deacons on the Hamble today. Low pressure and springs made sure their wellies were about 18 inches too short.

And the outlook is just as grim. What a rotten weather spell.

Same problem - lift back in cancelled due to the wind... thats Easter gone then. Let hope it improves next week so at least the boat can get back in the water and stop being a static caravan!

Same here, Easter cancelled yet again, Just called the boss and asked if I can go to work, taking days in Lou later in year, calling boatyard in morning.
The last time we cancelled we hired a static caravan for the weekend & ended up looking at the rain from that instead!

Been trying to find a weather window when we could make the passage back to our home berth but it's not worth the risk, 380 mile round trip to sit in the boatyard if we don't launch, typical bank holiday.

Enterprise - same prob too - 300 mile round trip by road for us - home to boat. 8 mile sea trip yard to berth!! Guess which one is easier to achieve at the mo...lol Then when we want to re-book the lift, negotiations start with the yard fuhrer who dictates when he can fit you in again... and zay kannot livt at ze veekends!

Still.... once she is back in and the sun comes out, it will all make sense!

Sorry Mark, planned a trip to Fecamp for this w/e, so the wind was bound to swing round to a southerly and blow a bl00dy hooley. Looking forward to the cherboug cruise in sept for a f8-9 on the nose. Oh those halcyon days.

yes Richard you should sell your services, just publish your travel plans - everyone else can go the opposite direction to you and get fair winds. 42 hours from Cherboug to Newhaven is a bit of a record I'm sure, not many trips can make pot noodle taste that good! And my binos never dried out (an excuse to buy some image stabilised ones ).
