Gert windy out there today...

Someone did - Swansea CG are calling "the white yacht off Brean Down" on Ch16 right now. Presumably someone seems to be in difficulty - nasty squalls are blowing through, and in similar winds last Wednesday it was blowing 30kn off Brean when it was 15-20 everywhere else.

We were watching the boats racing off Penarth at about 4pm, quite a few getting blown about, heeling right over in the gusts and then righting themselves, the sea looked nice and flat though in the lee of the cliffs. hope the" white yacht "is ok.

Quiet as the proverbial here today - one old fishing boat out for a spin, a mobo and a yacht returned from Bristol. Might explain why I've been online most of the day /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Which white yacht? Didnt hear of anything much in the bar afterwards.

It was a bit lumpy out there with quite a bit of spray, but it was good fun - except that we made a mess of the race. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Did seem a bit wild - don't think I'd have been tempted today but there's always one or two who are /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Took my lads swimming in the pool at Weston and that seemed much more appropriate for the conditions.

Any update on the white yacht?

Louise dived on the moorings at cyc about 3pm today. I watched her and got soaked with 'waves' breaking on the pontoon. She was warmer than me under water.

Next time shes down can you ask her to check out around my boat, i dropped 50p over the side about a year ago,i still havnt got over it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I don't think she's in a hurry to go back in - she remembered her dry suit but forgot her hood. There was a fair bit of language. I did point out that I had got wet as well, but it didn't seem to calm her.

It was quite funny, I heard someone ask if we were divers, and hid in the cockpit locker sharpish - not long after I saw you, so she ended up with the job!

I carried her gear.

In fairness, she's pretty good in the water, and wanted to do it. I'd have done it, but I wouldn't have enjoyed it. Bit of vis though, so she could see. When I did a mooring for Kenny, it was zero vis. I mean, zero, as well, not a foot.
