I recently saw a German built yacht of about 26' said by her owner (who spoke virtually no English) that it was 30 yrs old and called a Vega. This was NOT an Albin Vega. Had side decks canted downwards and smoothly faired into the fairly high cabin top, quite distinctive. Anyone know what it was cos I can't find it with my search engine?

Vega referring to the star is the same spelling in both English and German.

I have dim recollections of a Vega on the Havel (Berlin) in 1972, but I remember it as an open day sailor which doesn't push the search on much further.

The line drawing in the Daytons guide to Yachts of Yesteryear shows a hull shape fairly similar to the SCOD, but nothing like the shape you describe. No entries under Wega, Wege etc I'm afraid.
