geonav chart plotter repair

does anyone know of an elec. eng. who may be able to fix one i have a geonav 6 grey. which stoped working last time out it tells me the g.p.s is not working i sent it back to the geonav wiokshop and they wanted 30 pouds less than the price of a new one to fix it ta. KIERON

Thanks for the post Keiron - it's confirmrd my decision to not buy the Geonav range.

Mind you have you ckecked that it is still getting an NMEA feed?

Having had to take the back off mine recently, I did notice how flimsy the wires to the internal antenna are.

As you bio says old cars I would think you quite able to whip the back off and have a visual at the insides, check the wires from the antenna and look for anything that looks out of place, like burn marks etc.

If all else fails, give me a PM and we might be able to sort something.
