Geonav 3s

Hi, I think I need some form of electronic brain to help get me to my destination more safely than the current method of applying some rusty orienteering knowledge to old marine maps using an Iris 50 compass.. I've seen a Geonav 3s for sale and wondered if that would be the kiddy for the job at hand.. does anyone have any actual experience of this device when used on a small (<20ft) boat.. is it any good? thanks

Might I suggest that applying wire wool to the brain rust? Once the Mark I Brain can hack the challenge, then you can give it a rest by getting some electrickery.

sounds like a good suggestion... will get most out of the electrickery doobry wotsit if I do. I do like my gadgets though so can;t promise I'll not resist temptation and buy one prematurely ;-)
