I'm delighted to see that Geoff Holt has won the Yachtsman of the Year award. He's a superb advertisement for the sailing world.

That's true but did you see the role played by his personal carer on his Atlantic trip? If I recall correctly, the young lady had not sailed before and suffered from major seasickness yet still had to do all the domestic stuff plus look after Geoff plus do engine and boat maintenance - and there were some serious technical problems.
I reckon I could just about sail a boat across the Atlantic but I definitely could not do it whilst looking after a paraplegic skipper full-time!
Geoff fully deserves this award, having had the pleasure to meet him on many occasions through his work with RYA Sailability he is truly inspirational WELL DONE Geoff
In regard to his Atlantic crossing - the whole crew (all of which I have met before and after the voyage) worked together to undertake a truly remarkable voyage.
