Does anyone have any experience of genuine Volvo anodes compared to aftermarket anodes. I like to stick to genuine engine parts, filters etc and I understand the protection that gives my engine but with anodes there is a big difference in price so why should I use genuine?

Have always bought aftermarket anodes for all my boats over many years.Have never had problem.
We have a local company producing anodes .All the commercial boats use them all the time and the prices are very competitive indeed. We also use them for protecting our piles and pontoons.

However many folks prefer their anodes out of a VP box and are happy to pay a good premium for the privilege.

I have bought after market from Keypart, but certainly for the my outdrive legs the genuine ones are actually bigger.

Now not big enough to justify that this is not any old zinc sir but special volvo zinc ...

I no longer have an OD boat, but I am pretty certain I used to by mine from another on line shop ( everything else came from Keypart)

Thanks guys. I can understand why a genuine filter might be better (I sawa cut up comparison once) just don't get anodes!
Surely an anode is an anode is an anode!

Just wait for volvopaul to set me right!
