Jekells recommend Bamar furler ; not one I've heard much of so has anybody a view. Don't want a link to manufacturer's site thanks.

Not heard anything bad. Had them recommended for hydraulic backstay/vang.
Rope or hyraulic furler? If rope check how easy it is to disassemble and replace furling line.
(And feel free to imaging you are in a force 7 at night!)

Bamar is supplied in the Uk by John Channon. The product is good and John is a very experienced trustworthy guy. He supplied the sails for my boat under the banner of Channon sails.
I would have no hesitation buying other gear from him.

I have bamar C2 on my HR3. Works very well. Rolls the genny neatly, easy to furl.
Would use again if needed.

I've got a Bamar Code-0 furler (same as genaker furler without the rubber "stay"). Haven't used it much yet but seems to be well made. Quite a lot of Bamar genoa and also genaker furlers around here in Nettuno. I think Bamar are Italian and they are much cheaper than the Harken equivalent!!

Thanks everybody. Yes, it is Italian so euro exchange rate is a drawback but, hey ho the bankers can lose my money faster. Now I just need to make the decision....not now, maybe tomorrow or after the weekend or....
