Powerfull rig
8mm rigging

Mast is off to replace standing rigging and looking at my Furlex it is looking a bit old possibly 20 years. It is Furlex Type B Mk II.
What do others recomend, replace ( with what ) have furlers developed much over the years or service it and soldier on.
Furlex has never let me down or been a problem, its just having mast off would make replacement an easy job.
Recomendations what to replace it with please.
Are continuous line furlers any good quite like the idea of not having piles of furling line in pit

Thanks
Keith

Best thing you could do is fit a continuous line furler, mine is by Sailspar and is very easy and reliable, short handed long distance racers use these to manage the big sails that they fly. Rudders fall off, keels fall off, masts break etc, etc but you never read of a jammed furler.

2nd that for a Sailspar. I know everyone has a favourite, and lets be honest, we're loyal to the gear we have. But I love the continuous line and the fact that the line is much thicker and therefore easier to haul.
