Hi y’all.

I’ve stupidly left the manual for my generator onboard but I need to order a filter to take with me. I THINK it is an HFL 6kw - but I could be very wrong.
These are images I took last week - does anyone recognise them or suggest somewhere that might know what it is?

I have done so much googling that I’ve forgotten where I’ve been or not.

Hi. I’d say that looks like a Chinese aftermarket thing. Does it need to be mounted an fixed to a bracket as it is or is it just sitting in line and suspended freely ? If it’s the latter…a generic in line filter would do you fine.

I was on the boat when this one was taken off but I didn't actually take it off myself so I need to go back down and check to be 100% sure. I am also assuming (hey ho!) that this is what was meant to be on there originally so I think an inline filter is going the way to go even if its short term. Those codes on it didn't bring up anything obvious via google or ebay etc so I think you might be right. Thanks

I'm assuming you have a water trap filter prior to this one? In which case its probobly not doing an awful lot.

You could fit an external fine fuel filter that spins on, make your life much easier and cleaner.

I really don't like those plastic filters on the inside of the generator housing personally

I have a metal inline canister before this plastic affair that ought to have a filter in it (but it never has) and I need to take it off and then I can get a filter to fit in there as a pre-filter or I take that off and fit a‘proper’ filter housing with a know make/brand/model of filter for future ease. I think that is best for the long term plan as I’ve had diesel issues for engines and generator and I need to get them resolved once and for all (wishful thinking!)
