I have a 1996 HFL 6kw generator on my boat. Assuming it is running well what sort of fuel consumption rates should I expect from it?

Excuse my ignorance as I've never had a genset before this one and struggling to find documentation.

Model No. : H2W 6 FIC
Voltage: 230
Ampage: 25
RPM: 3000

Consumption will be a direct function of the power the engine is producing. You need to find the fuel consumption curves for the engine which is likely to be expressed in grams per kw per hour. Use this in conjunction with the kw produced at the rated RPM then convert into litres.

At a guess it is likely to come out at somewhere between 1-2 litres an hour. Easily checked by brimming the tank and running for a few hours then topping up.

According to the manufacturers handbook of my Perkins generator, rated at 4.5kVa, fully loaded mine will use 2litres per hour. It's never fully loaded so I work on about a litre an hour
