All,

I have put Eureka (27.5ft Mariah sportsboat) up for sale. I have already had some interest...... :)

http://www.rivieraboats.co.uk/view_vessel.asp?UID=103

Dilema, was going to sell and be sensible and get a new kitchen, bathroom and possibly extend etc etc..

BUT... I CAN'T live without a decent boat..SO...the only other option is to take my boating to the next level.

Let's just say I could muster say £90-£100k,
I wanted something with good performance (34+ knots)
Twin Diesel
Able to cope with trips to France
Looks the part
Sleeps 4-6 in comfort with reasonable living space 4 long weekends.
Can be used all year round
Not so rare I'd never be able to sell it again.

So far I have looked on the web at:-

Sunseeker Martinique 36/39
Fairline Targa 34/38
Cranchi 39 or mediteranee 40
Sealine S34/36

Any other suggestions or advice on above? Not adverse to flybridge motors either, but must perform well (30 knots +)

Cheers

Nick

Nick, went to the same thing last year after looking some PrincessV39 -V40's Fairline targa 39 and sunseeker portofino 400 i looked at a sunseeker mustique 42 1993 wich was in the beginning not my first choise because of her age (1993) but when i looked closer: cat engines 2X 435 hp 460hrs, 2X en suite bedroom , 2xWC +showers, airco + heating, genny, chartplotter,radar,auto-pilot, bow thruster, teak deks + teak sidedeks(4k£ xtra) & electric passarelle
i said ok i'l give it a go & testrun it and woow ran like hell 26 cruise 34 kts tops very stable, came home with her from Brixham 29/09/04 into Belgium +10ft seas without probs and now we love her paid 116k for it, and before you ask, no she is not for sale!!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

No question in my mind, Fairline Targa, and with £100k I'd talk to Fairline direct to see what deals they can do on the stock of Exchange boats they have.
Good luck and enjoy.

I think all the boats you're considering are fine. Fairline - good handling and stylish, Sealine - more space and practicality, Cranchi - bigger boat for same money but possibly not quite so well finished?, Sunseeker - not sure but Compie1 seems very happy with his.

Nick - I would also add BMB to the list. We had a 34' one yr before last. Good quality boat in terms of finish (not in the league of fairline but at a discount price wise) and excellent performance handling and speed wise. We could get just under 40 knots out of her (with KAD 44s).

You'll get a couple of yr old one for your money easily....

I knowe this is personal but I find the Sealine interiors a bit plasticky and don't think Princess make good use of the internal space. I would go for a Fairline or BMB (have had both) depending on the age/price/quality trade off.

Everyone of those boats would be fine. For a few summer days.Surely for year round use some sort of fly or coupe would suit the bill better.Better a 25 Knots afloat in the middle of winter than a unused 30 knot freeze off your bits boat ashore for the winter.?

Nick,

there is something else you should consider before you buy something in the size of 35- 45 ft: berth, if you dont have problems with finding one thats ok but the price of it is an big difference compaired to what you are paying now so take a good look at it before you deside, on the other hand its all worth it you know having a second home and room for a dolphin ( or should that be a pony...)

Fairline Targa 37 looks good value to me - At the boat show a friendly Fairline saleman (yes I know that a rarity but he is a very nice guy) told me of one that he had just taken in P/x and it was available for £100K. Seriously considered spending the kids inheritance. PM me if you want the details.

On the other hand you could buy my boat and save yourself £60K !!
