Gearbox

Hi,
I recently purchased a Volvo Penta MD22L diesel engine. I have spent the last few months looking for a suitable used gearbox to fit the engine.
According to the Volvo Penta website, The gearbox designed for this engine is called a MS2A/B. I have finally located a gearbox fitting this description for sale.
One problem, the gearbox advertised, has a 20 spline output shaft with a diameter of 24mm. The clutch plate fitted to my MD22L engine will only accept a 26 spline shaft with a diameter of 34mm.

Does this mean that the MS2 designation gearbox, actually comes in different configurations to suit engine type???

Also, the bell housing on my engine looks as though it should mate to a gearbox with a round mounting flange. Most of the so called suitable gearbox's appear to have a rectangular mounting face.
The MD22L can be fitted with either a standard gearbox or a Sail Drive unit.

1. Do I have the bellhousing of the Sail Drive unit?

2. Can I change the clutch plate on my engine to accept the 20 spline gearbox advertised?

Sent both DB marine and Lancing Marine an e-mail asking this question......no reply.
Anyway, I know this forum has experts on such matters ???
