Suggestions for cheapo parking at Gatwick over weekend.
Ended up in some God forsaken desolate hole closer to Brighton than the North Terminal last time we booked car parking online, needs to be on site please.
Returning and waiting in a windy wet dumpster collection area watching every car park coach except yours go past at 1am is not fun. !
Just cough up and pay usual ...suppose ?
...and do you you really need to present that printout from the DVLA at the car hire desk....regular car hirers are poo pooing the idea .

The meet and greet services are only a small premium nowadays and make things much quicker and easier. Needs to be an approved operator though so you can drop off and collect undercover in the short stay car park right next to the terminal.

Use Holiday Extras or similar to compare prices and reviews

holdiay extras are good. i booked hotel and parking last time we went which wasnt too bad. dropped the car at the hotel lobby and collected it from the short stay.

i often use the Longstay official on site parking which is a short bus ride away and runs every 5 / 10 mins.

i dont like leaving my car keys with anyone whilst im away. too many horror stories although i know most have cleaned up their act

07808168400, Glen Affric, Simon, park in his paddock, cab to terminal £5, 5 minute ride. You keep hold the keys. A rough'ish lane on final approach.

We use meet and greet ( Magic Parking are a comparison site - but cheaper booking direct).

Don't discount the Short Stay car park

If going for a weekend then I use it. You can pre book at a discount and the price is about the same as meet and greet. Meet and greet is good, but you do often have a small wait to drop and collect.

Just book the standard on-site parking and be done with it. Not been asked for anything other than the plastic bit of your licence, in fact the car hire firm we use in Malaga actually say on their web site they only need to see the plastic bit and nothing from DVLA. I think you'll find it'll only be the anal UK hire companies who want anything more.

Pre-book Short Stay south, then use the shuttle to the North Terminal if that's where you are flying from.
(North terminal parking is a bit messed up at the moment ... rebuilding ... please wait :))

Just been on website. Short stay south £74.00 2 mins to terminal and about the same to North terminal.....Sorted.

Having always used Rail (But Slovenly became progressively more expensive, unreliable, slower and overcrowded) we then tried the car using Purple Parking and others in the past and been left hanging around too in the wet. We then tried Valet and would not use any other way of parking now. Last week 15mins from getting on stand to actually on the M23. Dropping off just as good - worth every penny. In the end you gets what you pay for.

Sorry only just seen this..............

OG have you actually paid for this yet?

If not I may be able to help.

Yup done and dusted.......done via ebay as well..much less fuss than entering card details etc.
Still a bit peeving to pay that much for a bit of parking and a 10 min bus ride......
About 50 of us gathering in Porto Petro for mates birthday bash......might even get a bit of boating in if the wind drops and the sea subsides a bit :)

This might sound very scuzzy but I had an early flight out of Gatwick last week. I left it until the last minute to book and the short stay was looking ridiculously expensive (£150 for a couple of days). I needed somewhere to stay before the flight too to booked the airport Travelodge for £60 or so. It's just been done up so the room / bed was very comfortable (family room sleeping 4) and they had a big bar where you could get a beer and a burger for £10. Parking was £7.50 a day with a shuttle bus running every 10 mins.

Hardly the Ritz but far from a bad experience.
