Speaking of hooves, I think I have pu.t both of mine in my wide gaping mouf. Me take out hooves, shut up mouth and go to bed.

The last solent forum newsletter mentioned that seals had been seen there, and also a porpoise, though sadly dead with fish net injuries...and that a Hen Harrier and Short eared owl had been hunting there

Great to see wildlife up close like that, and that seals are actually in the Solent

As it gate crashed, did anyone bounce it?

Glad to see this, because I couldn't quite believe my eyes on the day I took <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.ybw.com/cgi-bin/forums/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=Mercury&Number=510480&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=93&part=>these pics</A>. I saw what we all thought was a seal, but wasn't sure it would venture into the Solent. It swam up past our port side, heading for the shallow water behind the old seawall in Clamerkin lake (the area to the rhs of the second pic in my posting). No doubt it chose Newtown because it's a comparatively peaceful spot.
