I need to make a couple of gaskets, gearbox to block. Can I use any thick paper or do I need to get a hold of proper gasket material - if so, where?
Thanks

Old charts are great as others say however make sure there are no stuck on correction chartlets on the bit you use.

Grease the flanges as well and you will get a good job.

Thanks for all suggestions. I was going to change the gearbox due to a problem getting from fwd to neutral, but after a last minute check I found that the stern gland was getting really hot after a reasonable run - packing must have been too tight and swelled with the heat, preventing the shaft sliding in and out. I slackened it right off while running then nipped it up to couple of drips a second. Went for a long motor flat out, gear change now no problem, gland cool.
Thanks again.
