Gas regulator & hose replacement

Replaced both hose and regulator last weekend as both were 5 years old. Since then, all's been working fine - except an increased smell of gas (albeit slight) from the gas locker, which drains down and out of the hull.

The regulator is tight on, as is the new hose, jubilee clips tight in place. The gas bottle is shut. Have I missed something? Do you need to place the hose on with some form of sealing paste? Don't remember doing it last time, but may have forgotten...

Any help gratefully appreciated.

No sealant should be necessary between hose and nozzles. Dont over tighten worm drive clips.
I dont like worm drive clips on small diameter hose. If you must use them be sure they are a good make such as genuine Jubilee

If you can smell gas with the bottle valve shut check around the top of the bottle. Defective perhaps if Calor. Take it back if you find any leaks on the bottle.

Defective valve or joint if Camping gas. Your responsibility

Test all the joints , preferably using a leak detecting spray, failing that use a washing liquid solution but clean it off afterwards as its allegedly corrosive.

The clips I prefer on small diameters are those top left.

The one on the right is good for connections that have to the removed regularly.

I have even used the nylon snapper types on LP connections but they are probably not recommended.
