replacing the two gas hoses on my boat. One is a straightforward orange hose with pigtails but the other from behind the cooker not only has stainless braid but over the top of that has what I can only describe as galvanised armour spring ie a spring made out of flat wire with all the turns tight against each other

any ideas where from?

The gas police no longer approve of braided hoses as you cant see the expiry date or if the internnal rubber is perished.
Just a heads up to stop you wasting money on braided hose.:)

Not so. The ones from SOCAL are date stamped and accepted - at least my approved installer used one (because of potential chafe on a stainless splashback) and I have a valid test certificate for the installation.
