I have a recently installed gas oven with an 8mm outside diameter tail. The supply to it is by means of a quarter inch copper tube with an armoured hose and a drop fan stopcock. The final connection to the oven is made by a quarter inch to 8mm compression fitting.

The drop fan stopcock has failed and I would now like to replace the entire supply system with 8mm copper pipe and the associated fittings. I have successfully sourced all the items required with the exception of the armoured hose. Does anyone know where I can purchase a one metre length of armoured hose with 8mm tails?

I believe that armoured hose is no longer used for (flexible) cooker connection, and that non-armoured is used. As I understand it one can not visually inspect the hose through the armouring.

The CORGI / Calormarine website I'm sure will have the latest info.

Thanks, Their website does not list metric armoured hose, but, inspired by your information I have sent them an e-mail asking the obvious question.

I was also told by a Corgi Dealer that Armoured hose was no longer allowed, so I bought normal hose with end fittings attached.
Later I read in PBO (I think) that the dealer was wrong and you can still fitt armoured hose up to 1 metre long.

I bought mine from

They do mail order and it was only a few pounds. Just in case you don't find anything local. It is a proper accessories shop where things come in brown paper bags and you are treated like a king, the type of place you can spend hours browsing. They're a caravan type place, but can get most things you would find on the average small yacht.

Hope this helps.

Thanks to everyone who posted. I have had a most pleasant exchange of e-mails with Peter from Calormarine who has answered all my questions and pointed me in the direction of the appropriate bits of kit. PBO should offer him work.
