Gas bottle location ~ legal or not?

Don't forget that the spare bottle (shown in the photo) also needs to be stored in a safe, ventilated location. Often the anchor locker is suitable.

Oyster Yachts sent out a warning to owners after a fire caused by a large o/b motor tank stowed in a locker vented due to heat & ignited, they recommend the vented anchor locker for fuel ect

Petrol, specifically.

I keep the outboard can in the anchor locker, sealed from the accommodation and draining overboard. But the spare diesel lives in the main cockpit locker.

If at least the wooden box was raised, had a sealed lid and was epoxy lined I would have thought it may just be acceptable?
