I thought it would be very simple,Get alarm,Screw the thing to the bulkhead,Stick the sensor somewhere lower than the unit----Finish----WRONG !!!

I have now totaly confused myself. Where is the best place for the sensor? The gas bottles are at the same level as the wheelhouse.Directly below this is the Engine Bay.Forward of that is the main Lounge/Galley area.Aft of that is the Rear cabin(or as SWMBO calls it"Her bedroom") So what does the panel think? Where would it be best placed?(there is a 4 burner hob in the main lounge/galley area).

I think ill sell it and do without :-(

If you only have one sensor place it under the stove as that is where the connections are that are not in the locker. If there are 2 place the other in the bilge, high enough to stay dry, keeping in mind that a splash of water ruins the sensor.

If you want to fit a cheap simple sensor then a carbon monoxide (CO) sensor may be a way to go.
CO is produced by engine, maladjusted cooker etc and, unlike cooking gas, is odourless and poisonous.

And turn off gas at main tap when not cooking, or at least when asleep/absent etc.

(I have to be extra careful - my crew has no sense of smell!)
